Membership

·         Accepts the bylaws of the EDIR. 

·         Pays the Membership Contribution, Replenishment Contribution and Administrative Contribution on a timely basis. 

·         Is present at the EDIR meetings.

·         Is present at the EDIR meetings.

·         Lives in the City of Austin or its Surrounding Areas as specified under in the bylaw.

·         Is 18 years or older.

·         Children under 18 may be registered as dependents free of Membership Contribution and Replenishment Contributions and qualify for all the services and benefits associated with membership. 

·         Registration for membership is once and shall not be duplicated or transferred.

·         Membership benefits become effective six (6) months after date of registration. Registration Contributions must be paid in full. 

·         Full payment of Membership Contribution shall be due upon registration for members registered as individuals. 

·         Partial payments of Membership Contributions are allowed for those with dependent to be paid within ninety (90) days of registration.

·         Registration fees will not be refunded 

·      The one-time contribution assessed for membership into the EDIR shall be twenty-five dollars ($25) times three totaling seventy-five dollars ($75) plus ten dollars ($10.00) for annual administration fee per individual.

·         The Replenishment Contribution assessed to members to replenish the EDIR’s funds upon the disbursement of death benefits by the EDIR (EDIR Payment) shall be twenty-five dollars ($25.) per member

·         Each member has an obligation to pay a Replenishment Contribution within 30 days of notification. Suspension or termination of any member who fails to contribute toward the membership assistance fund after three notices and is late for over 90 days. 

·     Each member has an obligation of a yearly contribution of $10 due in January of each year to help defray the administrative cost of membership services. An additional fee of five dollars ($5) shall be assessed for every six (6) months that a member fails to contribute.
